Precision straightening
Precision straightening — complex parts and high requirements
Transmitted know-how, applied to today's industrial requirements
Transmitted know-how, applied to today's industrial requirements
Établissements Chevreuil specialise in precision straightening of individual parts or small series, when tolerances are tight, geometries complex and standard solutions are no longer sufficient.
Nearly 100 years of know-how transmitted across four generations form today the foundation of our approach. This ancient knowledge, born from the field and from experience, is applied to current industrial requirements within a rigorous and controlled technical framework.
When straightening becomes a trade in its own right
Precision straightening is not just about making a part straight again. It is about understanding its actual behaviour, its internal stresses, its final function and the limits not to be crossed.
We intervene when:
- the required straightness or flatness is high,
- the part presents simple or combined deformations,
- the material or metallurgical state requires a cautious approach,
- preservation of surfaces and absence of marking are essential.
In some cases, targeted tolerances can reach a few hundredths, requiring rigorous mastery of the process and control at every step.
Varied parts, shapes and defects
Our know-how applies to a wide diversity of parts, provided they display deformable behaviour compatible with controlled correction.
Shafts, axles and rods
Straightness correction, including on treated, coated or long parts.
Plates and flat parts
Flatness straightening with surface finish preservation.
Rings and annular parts
Correction of flatness, ovality and umbrella effect.
Tubes
De-ovalization and straightening by internal or external action.
Atypical parts
Specific processes defined with the client according to the part's constraints.
Varied parts, shapes and defects
We work in particular on:
- shafts, axles and long rods,
- plates and flat parts,
- rings and annular parts, which may present combined defects of flatness, ovality and umbrella effect,
- tubes, by internal, external action or de-ovalization,
- atypical parts requiring specific processes defined with the client.
Materials may be ferrous or non-ferrous, in varied states, including treated, work-hardened or coated, with particular attention paid to surface preservation.
Sectors of intervention
High-requirement markets
Our activity is primarily oriented towards sectors where technical rigour, reliability and risk management are decisive.
We work in particular for:
- aeronautics,
- defence,
- nuclear,
- construction and agricultural equipment.
These fields require fine understanding of constraints, the ability to reason through each case, and a coherent approach between straightening and control.
An approach founded on analysis and mastery
We do not apply generic solutions. Each part is approached as a particular case, with:
- a feasibility analysis,
- a clear definition of objectives,
- adapted controls,
- and an assumed technical decision.
Knowing how far to go, and knowing when to stop when risks cannot be controlled, is an integral part of our trade.
